The State Filing Specialist will be a part of our MGA Strategy, Insights & Pricing team and collaborate with Product & Pricing to prepare and submit product filings for state department approval. You will also support product development initiatives by researching competitor filings and products, understanding and communicating state regulatory nuances, and devising filing strategies and timelines. 
This position is preferable to be based in our Boston, MA office.

What will I do?

  • Collaborate with Product & Pricing teams to manage rate/rule/form filings for all states and commercial products (e.g. GL, BOP, Inland Marine)
  • Assist in the preparation of filing exhibits and transmittals to be filed with the Departments of Insurance
  • Research & inform stakeholders of special state filing requirements and competitors product offerings
  • Secure approval & assistance from external consultants, Fronting carrier(s) and Reinsurer(s) during filing lifecycle
  • Lead key stakeholders through filing process to obtain approval (e.g. objections management, SERFF management)

Who are we looking for?

  • Someone with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or relevant fields
  • 4+ years of state filing experience at a P&C carrier – commercial experience is, strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of SERFF and familiarity with state filing requirements
  • Experience developing and handling complex filing, objections, compliance, or product initiatives
  • Agile, pragmatic, and able to adapt approach where needed in a fast-paced business
