The UK is built on the hard work of small business owners – in fact, they make up 99 per cent of all British businesses. SMEs are vital to our economy, which is why we need to play a crucial role in championing them. 

By saying small businesses deserve our best, we’re making clear our commitment to always do what we can to provide them with the best possible service. 

Protecting nearly one million small businesses has given us an intimate understanding of the SME landscape. Here are just some of the ways we’re doing our best to support the nation’s small business community.

    Should the unexpected happen, we want things to be as simple as possible so our customers can get back to work. Simply Business customers can make a claim online at any time – or by calling our team of experts. Our UK-based specialist claims partner Sedgwick are here to help.

    The figure above is rounded across our range of products. “Settled” covers paid, declined or withdrawn.     Our Knowledge centre has over 750 business guides to support SMEs at whichever stage of the business journey they’re at – whether that’s taking the first steps into self-employment, doing their tax return, or marketing their business.     We’ve awarded nearly £125k to small businesses through Business Boost

    Since 2020, we’ve given out £125k through our Business Boost grant. The five businesses who have won our annual Business Boost competition have each demonstrated a clear vision for the future, a dedication to innovation, and a strong commitment to social impact.
