Tapping into trends and uncovering a gap in the market is all part of being an entrepreneur. But in a constantly evolving, competitive online space, it can be difficult to know when a product is worth selling.
Whether you’re dropshipping, looking for another product to add to your inventory, or an entrepreneur looking for a product to get behind, read on for five trending products you could sell in 2024.
How to find a trending product
There are a few different ways you can find a trending product. Checking the best selling category on online retailers like Amazon, paying attention to what influencers are promoting, or simply asking your customers what they’d like to see are just some ways you can get inspired.
But using a search engine tracker tool like Google Trends is probably the most accurate way of understanding if a product is trending. With Google Trends, you can see the bigger picture to understand whether something is truly growing in popularity or just a passing fad.
That’s why we’ve used a combination of Google Trends and Ahrefs (a search volume tool) to find five trending products in 2024.
Five trending products to sell in 2024
1. Glycolic acid and niacinamide serums
After a boom in popularity during 2020, skincare products have become a huge market, particularly online. And because of the size of engaged communities on Reddit and TikTok, certain products can experience sudden bursts of interest.
Like r/SkincareAddicts on Reddit, for example, which has almost a million members that are regularly sharing tips and tricks on different skincare products.
And Google Trends reflects this, with some products experiencing spikes in search growth over the last few years.
For example, glycolic acid has never been more popular in terms of Google searches, with 27,000 searches a month.
And it’s a similar case with niacinamide serums. With searches around this product consistently growing since 2019, at around 16,000 searches a month.
While those two products are what’s trending right now, skincare is a broad market with a huge number of products. Do some digging into Google Trends to find more gaps in the market you could capitalise on.
2. Padel equipment
Searches for padel were almost non-existent five years ago. But now the emerging sport racks up 31,000 searches a month in the UK, with the interest in padel equipment increasing too.
Searches for “padel racquet” and “padel balls” are growing, with peaks in the summer and the lead up to Christmas. And while it may seem like a niche market in comparison to skincare, some are suggesting padel is “fastest growing sport in the world”, which shows its huge potential.
3. Blooming gel
Nail art and care are big markets with enthusiastic followers. Across TikTok, Reddit, and YouTube, content creators have amassed millions of views by sharing professional tips on how to look after and style your nails.
That’s why there’s such an appetite for nail products and tools for at-home enthusiasts. Integral pieces of equipment like UV lamps and cuticle pushers are consistently searched for, but when you dig deeper into the trends – you can uncover more emerging products.
Blooming gel could be an emerging product to look at as searches have spiked in the last few months, growing over 400 per cent in the last five years.
4. Supplement gummies
The market for supplement gummies has grown a lot over the past few years, with some estimating it’s worth $22.7bn. Lots of different vitamins and minerals are being turned into supplement gummies, and the variety continues to grow.
Ashwagandha and creatine gummies are two emerging types of supplements. Searches for creatine gummies have soared since January 2024, now gaining 17,000 searches a month.
And ashwagandha gummies have experienced a similar burst in popularity, growing since 2022.
5. Hair wax sticks
Similarly to skincare, hair care products are a huge market with many people waiting for new products to test out. But it can be tricky to know where to look with so many big brands competing in the space.
You’ll struggle to compete with typical products like shampoo or hairspray because they’re so widely available. But with a more niche product like a hair wax stick, you’ll be able to serve a specific part of the market.
Searches for hair wax sticks have grown massively over the past few years, with global search volume peaking in the last six months. And videos on TikTok have gained millions of views.

Remember to do your research
Whenever you’re looking for something to sell, make sure you do your research into trending products. Sometimes products are passing fads, rather than a growing market.
Try to find the balance between products that are experiencing a spike in popularity, but where the interest has been steadily growing over a longer period of time.
And evaluate how sustainable selling certain products will be, particularly ones that are seasonal by nature. You should aim to have a steady cash flow into your business, rather than one that fluctuates between busy and quiet periods.
