As a landlord, finding a letting agent that suits your needs is crucial, so we’ve put together a list of the highest rated estate agents for landlords in London to help you find the right one for you.

1) Paramount Properties

Paramount is an independent estate agency based in West Hampstead. They have won several awards over the years, including Best Property Management at the 2016 Lettings Agency of the Year awards.

Most promising review:

“The people at Paramount have done a great job in renting out my property. Within 2 months, the flat was ready and a tenant was found. I was a bit nervous as I was moving abroad and had no idea what renting out a property would entail, but both Spencer and Mark were very present and helpful in answering my many questions and efficient in solving any problem I had. I am very happy with the service they provided in letting the property.”

2) MyLondonHome

MyLondonHome is a Westminster based estate agency, priding themselves on providing ‘professional, transparent and fair customer service’. They have previously won awards for the ease of use of their website and took home the title of ‘Best London Small Lettings Agency’ at the 2014 Lettings Agency of the Year awards.

Most promising review:

“Daniel Quicke and the rest of the team at MyLondonHome make property management a pleasurable experience. I deeply appreciate their hard work, commitment to placing my properties in rent and their attentiveness to my issues as landlord as well as their great communication of issues.”

3) Sterling De Vere

Sterling De Vere covers central and east London and specialises in renting out rooms for HMOs, though they also cover other property types. They take pride in their extended opening hours and 24 emergency line for both landlords and tenants.

Most promising review:

“I tried several agents in the area but after contacting Sterling de Vere my flat was immediately let. They do a sterling job! Mr. Kobir Ali is alway easy to get hold of for any queries and I also can go and inspect the flat at a short notice. The keep the property in very good state, I am very happy with the service.”

4) Martin & Wright

Martin & Wright are another independent, West Hampstead based estate agency. They cover both rentals and property management in central and north-west London, and say their primary objective is to offer an ‘honest, reliable and efficient service’ to prospective and existing customers.

Most promising review:

“I had a very rewarding experience with Martin and Wright. Jay Hayden went beyond the call of duty to ensure I got my flat rented out within two days of putting it on the market. The supporting team were all very helpful and super efficient, specially Robyn. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again.”

5) Outlook Property

Outlook services properties in east London with offices in Stratford, Leyton, Docklands and Walthamstow, with an office in Tottenham due to open in early 2017. They’re the biggest independent estate agent in east London and are members of a number of non-compulsory regulatory bodies.

Most promising review:

“As a landlord I have used Outlook for the last three years and can highly commend their level of service. I met with other agents in the area but was particularly impressed with Billy Crickmar – a pleasure to deal with; always honest, upfront and extremely helpful. A genuine credit to his profession.

They now look after my two flats and have always found great tenants. Equally, as I understand from my tenants, the level of service they provide to landlords is matched by the care, service and attention they give to tenants.

Outlook consistently get great reviews – and they’re thoroughly deserved.”

6) Ludlow Thompson

Ludlow Thompson are another independent letting agency but have offices all over the capital and cover properties in all those places, too. Established in 1993, Ludlow Thompson prioritises ‘professional standards’ by ensuring all its agents undertake professional industry qualifications.

Most promising review:

“The service provided by Ludlow Thompson, especially Jake and Daniel was extremely professional. Right from valuation they were helpful, approachable and took the time to explain things thoroughly. During the search for a tenant they were good at giving me feedback and secured a good tenant. Their agency fees are competitive with the market and well explained/broken down. Overall I’m satisfied with the service and confident that my property is in capable hands.”

7) Streets Ahead

Streets Ahead have offices in Crystal Palace and Croydon, letting properties across the south of London. One of their main strengths is languages: staff speak 14 different languages across their departments to ease communication between tenants and landlords.

Most promising review:

“I contacted Streets Ahead to find a tenant for our flat. Jon (Jonathan Claustres) got straight onto it and was very helpful and reassuring. He found me a tenant almost immediately, eased me through the process and made Streets Ahead practically irresistible. He negotiated a good deal for us and sorted the letting quicker than I had imagined possible. And it was all done with great humour and charm.”

8) Atkinson McLeod

Based in Canary Wharf, Atkinson McLeod also have offices in Kennington, Wapping, Balham and Hackney, covering properties in those same areas as well as the City. They’re particularly proud of their ‘focused marketing approach’, which uses both online and offline media to help them attract the right tenants for your properties.

Most promising review:

“We have used Atkinson McLeod previously for several years but moved back into our London flat for 18 months whilst changing houses. The team constantly kept in touch so that when we were able to let again a suitable client, to our specifications, was found within a week. Well done and thank you.”

9) Harrisons

Another Canary Wharf based letting agent, Harrisons consider themselves a ‘driving force’ in the east London property market. They’re another award winning letting agency having picked up Estate Agent of the Year in E14 at the All Agents Customer Experience Awards 2015.

Most promising review:

“I use Harrisons to manage a property for me. Shannen Levett is my contact within Harrisons, and was excellent in her quick handling of an issue which arose at the property, giving me the options to permit a speedy solution. As a landlord this gives me the confidence that Harrisons and its staff know what they are doing. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.”

10) Jorgensen Turner

Jorgensen Turner cover west and north-west London, with offices in Shepherd’s Bush and Queen’s Park. They cover a range of different property types and are keen to empower landlords to make informed decisions that will benefit them in the long term.

Most promising review:

“I have come to know Jorgensen Turner in several guises: as a buyer, as a landlord, and – on a friend’s behalf – as a tenant. Paul is absolutely excellent and leads by example. His team are organised, hugely energetic and responsive, extremely well informed, and courteous to everyone. This last quality is crucial for preserving good relations between landlords and tenants, and a great contrast with the attitude of other letting agents in the area.

Earlier this year, I set Mikolaj the challenge of finding and installing new tenants in 24 days. He managed to find me two wonderful tenants in the first weekend of marketing – and an above-asking-price rent!

I’m very happy with JT and their fees are also competitive for the local area. I will continue to recommend them.”

This article is just a guide. Before deciding on a letting agent should conduct your own thorough research.
